Case Study: Downer Renmark

Putting our clients first has always been of the utmost importance in how we do business. Often, it barely feels like a business deal; we become such good mates with our clients, and the work we’re doing with them is so enjoyable, on both sides. When we started talking with loyal clients, Downer for their Renmark, South Australia project we were thrilled to work closely with them again to fulfill their forklift requirements.

The job

We’d previously worked with Downer in Parkes, NSW doing big distribution lines with our telehandlers to erect towers. With that, they knew our machines were top notch, and our service and reliability second to none. So, we were tasked with finding and supplying them with a heavy duty forklift to unload their truck of large rolls of cable that would run their electricity through. 

These are massive rolls, and need a forklift with some real grit. 

The machine

On a 12 month hire contract, we did a case study on the weight and dimension of the cable to find the optimal solution for their lifting needs. With that, we went with the 16T Diesel Hyster. 

Aside from being able to do the job, we know that the forklift will have to be reliable and sturdy. We stand behind every one of our machines, but we also know things can happen unexpectedly. So, along with the hire we also offer onsite servicing, repairs and replacements. Particularly for projects like Downer, this is an incredibly important addition to our service. They don’t have the time to waste, and we will be right there supporting them the whole way. 

In the services industry such as gas, oil, electrical, we always find ourselves providing solutions; they have the problem and we solve it. Downer has been no exception.
