Case Study: Magni for Mona Vale Road upgrade

EKC Construction, a sub-contractor of building and civil construction company Georgiou who secured the upgrade of Mona Vale Road East, needed a reliable, advanced machine to take on the job. The stakes were high to keep everything on track and All Lift were there to help them with the right Magni machine.

Excellent performance and great versatility make the Magni telehandler range ideal for the major construction sector. EKC Construction chose Magni for the upgrade of a vital piece of infrastructure in Sydney’s northern suburbs.

THE TURNAROUND TIME

EKC Construction took part in the project in mid May 2022, after Georgiou secured the job in November 2019. They plan to complete their part of construction in eight to 10 months, with a concurrent timeframe from February 2019 to 2023 for additional works.

WORKS BEING DONE

The project involves a 3.2km upgrade to major roads, with additional works for climbing and descending lanes, and turning the roundabout into a signalised intersection.

WHICH MAGNI MACHINE?

All Lift worked with EKC Construction to narrow their needs down to the right machine and the Magni RTH 7.26 was a front runner. This machine offers 7 tonne weight capacity and a lift height of 26 metres. This was important to build and install the formwork panels for the retaining walls on the bridge adjustments, and offered great versatility - the machine is also used for logistical purposes to handle various types of materials onsite.

The 3-in-1 machine means it can be used as a forklift, crane and platform is one of Magni's great advantages. One machine can carry out several jobs, reducing equipment costs and increasing productivity.

ADDITIONAL ATTACHMENT REQUIREMENTS

In order to carry out a wide range of jobs, the machine has in fact been equipped with three attachments: a 500 kg platform, a 6 tonne winch and forks for installing the bridge walkways. The platform allows it to work at height in complete safety, while winches and forks are used to handle heavy loads with maximum precision.

A wide range of attachments offers the R.F.ID coupling system quick switching between attachments. This system automatically recognises the attachment coupled and shows the corresponding dynamic load chart on the in-cab display, meaning the operator can work in complete safety while monitoring the position of the load within the load chart in real time.

WERE THEY HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE RECEIVED?

Very! With the globally recognised Magni name and reputation, plus All Lift’s careful eye for detail in worksite needs for large scale projects, we were able to support a seamless process and successful implementation of the Magni in this important and high stakes upgrade.

EKC Construction were so happy with their experience that they have another Magni on order for delivery soon, and another Magni machine for long-term hire!
